Macedonia: Domaine Lepovo – New Wine Brand of Tikves Winery

Tikves Winery has promoted the first-ever ultra exclusive Macedonian wine brand, Domaine Lepovo, Telegraf.mk reports.

By launching the first wine produced in the new winery, Domaine Lepovo, an important novelty is being introduced in the exclusive quality wine production.

Domaine Lepovo received its name after the splendid site Lepovo which offers ideal conditions for growing grapes and producing a superior wine with extraordinary quality. Domaine Lepovo is a new winery within M6 Group since 2013.

Svetozar Janevski, a partner of the M6 Group and Tikves Winery Executive Board Chair, at the promotion of the new wine brand, said that a step forward has been made with the new Domaine Lepovo winery which will enable the world, the real wine lovers, to taste a wine that is slightly different than all previous wines, exceeding all our previous achievements.

“This is a new stage in the TIkves Winery portfolio diversification. With this, we are introducing an important novelty in the production of limited quantities of sophisticated wine in a small winery, but simultaneously we are instilling a new impetus, new energy, in the development of the Macedonian wine industry, culture and tradition,” Janevski stressed.

Domaine Lepovo exclusive wines, as winery officials say, are a creation of the wine expert Philippe Cambie, who incorporated the best French practices and knowledge in the production of such wines.

The term 'Domaine' implies that the overall production process is carried out at the same location where the grapes are grown. In Lepovo, a place close to Negotino, there are 5 grape varieties grown: Chardonnay, Vranec, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The Domaine Lepovo exclusive wines will be available only in a few markets with huge wine sections, in a limited number of restaurants across Macedonia and exported to the most important world wine markets.

First wine appearing on the market is the white wine “Domaine Lepovo Chardonnay”, with an annual production of 5,000 liters.

The winery announced that, by the end of the year, a new wine will be launched, “Domaine Lepovo Pinot Noir”, and its portfolio will include the wine which is expected to be promoted in June 2015, “Domaine Lepovo Grand Cuvee”
