The first 180 tourists from the Benelux countries arrived today with the charter flight from Amsterdam to Ohrid Airport through Dutch tour operator “Corendon” arrangements and their Macedonian partner “Fibula Air Travel”.
Tourists from Benelux, especially those from the Netherlands, for many years have been the largest number of foreign guests coming on vacation in Macedonia.
- We are working continuously on improving the supply, with enrichment offered activities. This year’s novelty is a charter flight from Antalya to Ohrid, which will start in the middle of next month until mid-September, said Asim Megjedovikj, director of “Fibula Air Travel”.
According to Nasser Hot, adviser at the Agency to support the tourism, every next tourist season is expected to be better than the previous one.
- Last year in Macedonia arrived around 23 thousand tourists from countries of Benelux. At least ten percent increase is announced for this year, confirming that all the efforts that the Government has made in this direction are productive. Each year we get better and better, it is evident in the results. I think guests will feel better because we learn along with them, hence the complete tourist offer is constantly improving, as well as the organizational activities, so I think we satisfy the tastes of the most demanding guests, Hot assessed.
Besides “Corendon”, Macedonia is offered as a destination for holiday by the tour operator “TUI Arketravel”, whose first aircraft with guests arrives in Ohrid on 8 May. The last flight back with Benelux tourists is scheduled for 2 October. Five charter flights with guests from the Benelux countries are expected to arrive during the peak season in Ohrid, and the number is around 900 guests per week.
