Swedish tour operators: Travel to Macedonia it is the cheapest!

Balkan countries in recent years increasingly attract Scandinavian tourists with their tourist facilities, MIA reports from Gothenburg.

“Svenska Dagbladet” writes that the hotel and restaurant services in Bulgaria, Macedonia and Albania are the cheapest in Europe – between 55 and 60 percent lower than the EU average. The rail, bus, ferry and air tickets in these three countries are significantly cheaper than other European countries.

The table published by “Svenska Dagbladet”, based on the results of the examination of purchasing power parity in the EU, the cheapest country in Europe in terms of hotel and restaurant services is Macedonia, the second place is Albania and the third is Bulgaria.

Serbia is the sixth, Bosnia and Herzegovina eighth and Montenegro tenth place. Among the 20 cheapest European countries are Croatia and Slovenia on the 18th and 19th place, just ahead of Spain, which is on 20th place.

Swedish newspapers write articles on the eve of this year’s summer tourist season and remind us that before the fall of the Iron Curtain, Bulgarian Black Sea coast had the status of Mallorca within the Eastern Bloc.

Croatia and Turkey received high marks. But, as Magdalena Örn, head of information at one of the largest Swedish tour operators “Wing” said, if Scandinavian tourists want to get the most for their money for trips to this region, then they should head to Bulgaria or to neighboring Macedonia and Albania.
