Director of the tour operator TUI Netherlands for Macedonia, Yakis Krijnen noted that as a result of the good cooperation and support of the Macedonian government, constantly grows the number of tourists that their tour operator brings in the country.
-As a result of that support in recent years the number of tourists from the Netherlands in the country has increased by 10 times. We are the largest tour operator in the Netherlands and working in Macedonia since 2011. We worked before in Macedonia in the early nineties, but returned in 2011, said Krijnen at the business forum in The Hague, Netherlands, where he attended the Macedonian delegation led by Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.
He emphasized that they started with only 2,000 customers tourists, but each year they increase the business.
-This season, in 2015, we plan to provide about 11 to 12 thousand Dutch tourists in Macedonia. In the past, we have invested in tourism facilities in Macedonia, built hotel, and this year we will build two new. We also try to improve the existing infrastructure at the hotels we cooperate with. All this is possible because of the support from the government because they provide subsidies and so we can increase the business in Macedonia, without it, none of this would be possible. I hope that with this support, we will increase and develop business in the future, added Krijnen.
