Hanover, capital of the federal state of Lower Saxony, is an important commercial hub, as well as trade fair and festival center, popular for such events as Oktoberfest Hannover, which is the second largest Oktoberfest in the world and Hanover Schützenfest, the world’s largest marksmen’s summit. By owning numerous world-class museums, galleries and theaters, the city is also known as an important cultural center and is a great choice to visit for both of tourists and business travelers. With today’s announcement, Hanover is becoming the newest 124th airport in the WIZZ network.
Wizz Air’s first Skopje flight took off in June 2011 and since then WIZZ has constantly expanded its Macedonian network as well as established operations in second Macedonian airport in Ohrid in June 2015. Since the very first flight, over 2.2 million passengers chose to fly with WIZZ to and from Macedonia making Wizz Air the leading airline in Macedonia in terms of available capacity.
With the new service to Germany, Wizz Air now offers a total of 25 routes to 11 countries from two Macedonian airports: Skopje and Ohrid.
Tamara Vallois, Head of Communications at Wizz Air said: ” We are thrilled to be bringing great news to our Macedonian consumers today. Wizz Air brought low fares to Macedonia in 2011 and since then has continuously invested in Skopje currently basing three aircraft in the Macedonian capital. Our two million passenger milestone, which has been just passed earlier this year, also proves the great demand for affordable air travel in the country. The new route to Hanover will offer another outstanding low fare connection to one of the biggest business and culture hubs in Germany while stimulating tourism and hospitality sectors in Macedonia. Our professional local crew looks forward to welcoming passengers on board with a WIZZ smile.”
