Dojran Prepares for Summer Tourist Season

The municipal authorities in Dojran have begun preparations for the coming summer vacation season.

All obstructions and equipment from the main city beach are being moved to the parks, to allow more room for beach-goers.

The town is also working on preparing other beach locations for the coming tourists. Lake Dojran, which suffered major environmental damage due to excessive use of irrigation on its Greek side, has largely recovered after the construction of a water supply pipeline, and the rising levels have reduced some of the existing beaches.

The growing hospitality industry in the area expects a good summer season. Construction of several new hotels is also expected to begin soon in locations that were recently sold to developers.
