Struga – the July gap in tourists’ occupancy of Struga, can be filled by the mid and the second half of August, especially by the end of the month, reports Utrinski vesnik.
The public's attention would turn its eyes to the poetic metropolis, where Struga Poetry Evenings, one of the most prestigious festivals of this kind in the world is held. By tradition, hotel "Drim," is the base and location of the events related to the SPE. Thus, even now the hotel management has not been hiding the satisfaction related to the forthcoming event.
"Beginning this weekend, we practically have no vacancy," says the manager of the hotel Krste - Chris Blazheski, who expects another successful season. Indeed, in the first half of July, the hotel had more vacancies, but the main reason according to him had been due to the bad weather conditions.
Elizabeta Markovski from the sales and marketing department of hotel "Drim" gives a more accurate picture about the ratio of visits of the facility.
"In terms of the weather conditions in July, the portion of visits was slightly lower, but in the second half of July the hotel capacities had been complete filled. In terms of the last season we have been on an equal level. However, as the season goes on we are even better in certain situations," says Markoska.
This season, the most frequent guests at the Struga Riviera are the Dutch and the guests from Turkey and Albania.
"Most of our guests come from the Netherlands. Next on the list are the Turkish guests, as well as visitors from Albania. Smaller in numbers are the guests from Macedonia," adds Markovska.
Reports on full occupancy come also from "Makpetrol" hotel in Struga. Stojan Brcheski, the manager, says most of the tourists come from the Company, but the facility is of an open type and had regularly been receiving guests from the country and abroad.
The restored hotel "Izgrev" has also opened the doors for its first guests. It promises to be one of the most elite accomodation facilities on the Ohrid Lake.
