Macedonia: Most Tourists in June Came from Turkey, the Netherlands and Serbia

The number of nights domestic tourists spent in Macedonia’s accommodation facilities in June 2014 shows a 10.8% drop. 

Over fifty thousand foreign tourists have visited Macedonia in June this year.

The largest number came from Turkey (8,522) followed by 4,7666 Dutch visitors, 4, 528 from Serbia, 3, 828 Greeks, 2, 925 Bulgarians, 2, 121 Slovenians, and 1, 369 US tourists.

According to data published by the State Statistical Office, the total number of foreign tourists in the country in June this year was 51, 498. 

The total number of tourists in June stands at 70, 673, while the number of spent nights amounted to 170, 898. The number of domestic tourists in June of 2014, in terms of the same period last year, has dropped by 10.9%.

The number of nights domestic tourists spent in Macedonia’s accommodation facilities in June 2014 shows a 10.8% drop, compared to the number of spent nights in June 2013, while the number of nights spent by foreign tourists has been increased by 8.8%.
