At an ancient astronomic observatory, two people stand on a rocky crest filled with astronomical markers at sunrise on the day of the summer solstice. The megalithic observatory Kokino, located about 62 miles northeast of Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, dates back 4,000 years and is ranked by NASA as the world's fourth-oldest observatory.
