"Amazing Macedonia - Landscapes and Sounds" by Third Ear production won a special award for its achievement to present Macedonia, its culture, history and ambient, at the 47th International Tourist Film Festival, which was held between May 25-29 in Lecce, Italy.
In competition with 273 films from 60 countries, "Amazing Macedonia" was welcomed with a standing ovation by representatives of the media, esteemed guests, the hosts and thousands of citizens who attended the event at the Lecce city square, the production company says.
The festival, which is organised under the auspices of Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, presents the best tourist films from all over the world.
Film's producer Ivo Jankoski said he was surprised by the special award at the Lecce festival, adding: "This is only the beginning of a wider global promotion of 'Amazing Macedonia', which is to be screened at other similar festivals."
The 40-minute film is supported by the Macedonian Ministry of Culture.
