The total number of tourists in Macedonia in September stood at 66, 033, which is a 3.5% increase on a year to year basis. They spent the total of 156, 554 nights in Macedonia.
The State Statistical Office reported that the number of domestic tourists has decreased by 1%, while the number of foreign tourists has went up by 5.1%.
Most of the tourists in Macedonia in September came from Turkey - 6, 151; followed by Serbia (5, 010), the Netherlands (4,567) and Greece (3,157). Between January and September, the number of tourists in Macedonia has risen by 5.6% compared to 2013. Broken down by point of origin, the number of domestic tourists has increased by 2.1%, while the number of foreigners coming to Macedonia, has went up by 8.4%.
