Macedonia's Tourist Potentials Presented for First Time in Hungary

Macedonia's Agency for Promotion and Support of Tourism is presenting for the first time the country's culture, history and natural treasures before the Hungarian tourists, at the tourism fair held in Budapest.

The fair, aided by Chinese tourism authorities that have brought a large number of tour operators interested for the Balkans, in these four days starting from March 3, is expected to be visited by more than 40,000 potential partners, the agency said in a press release.

"This presentation is an excellent opportunity to promote Macedonia as a tourism destination on the European map. A special opportunity is the chance to promote the country before the Chinese tour operators," the Macedonian Ambassador to Hungary, Igor Esmerov, said.

A business workshop at which Macedonian representatives have met with several Chinese tour operators was held in the frames of the fair. Those entities are: Leo Vacations, Oases Travel, Tour Nasdaq, Beijing Youth Travel Service и China International Travel Service. Hungarian tour operators that were particularly interested in Macedonia were Robinson Travel, Theo Tours, Caterina Travel, Chemol Travel and Union Travel Agency.

Several meetings of national tourist agencies from Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania and the Hungarian economy ministry have taken place, emphasizing the need of joint cooperation among the Balkan countries in order to present the tourism potentials on third markets and attract tourist from distant countries.
