Modern trains on Macedonian railways soon


The procurement of wagons that will greatly improve rail traffic in Macedonia has started.



The Prime Minister today said that two types of wagons are purchased by the EBRD.

150 goods wagons will be supplied. The first delivery is expected in July, and all wagons should arrive in the country by the end of the year.

Gruevski said that the procurement costs € 13.2 million.



Moreover, in March a contract for 4 diesel locomotives and 2 on electric propulsion will be signed, worth € 23 million.

Each has a capacity of 1200 passengers. The prime minister that 60 percent of all rail traffic will be renewed.
